Resting metabolic rate

Simply put, you’re resting metabolic rate is the rate at which you burn calories doing nothing. When you want to put on muscle mass you go about 250-300 cal over your resting metabolic rate. When you want to burn fat you go about 250-300 cal below your resting metabolic rate. If you go lower than 300 cal your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will drop. If you go over 300 cal of your resting metabolic rate and you’re unable to burn those excess calories off or absorb them into muscle tissue you’ll put on fat.
