Motivation, Self-Discipline, Dedication



Are they equal?

Can they co-exist without each other?

While you can have all the motivation in the world, without self-discipline and without dedication, it won’t happen.

You may have the motivation to get up and go to the gym, but it’s the self-discipline and dedication that gets you there and tells you to put your all in to it.

You may have thousands of people backing you, but without the self-discipline and dedication you can just push it off or half ass everything that you do. Without that self-discipline and dedication you will not get to your dreams. This isn’t only true with fitness, but in anything you do.

If you want to build more self-discipline and dedication into your life, try becoming more fit. If you struggle with being disorganized or unfocused, try working out more, training for something that you have always wanted to do.

So technically without self-discipline and dedication, motivation may get you going but it won’t keep you going.

As for no motivation, there’s always something there that can motivate you to get going. You need to look for your “Y” factor as my husband calls it.

The “Y” factor, is your why for everything. Why do you keep on living? Why do you push? Why do you keep on going? This can be anything from family, friends, it could be as simple as a dream you have always had. A lot of people also have more than one “Y” factor. Use those to help with motivation.

So remember, you can have all the motivation in the world, but it won’t get you anywhere without self-discipline and dedication.
